Grupo de Apoyo Nuevo Amanecer - $7,500
The Foundation continues supporting this organization in the municipality of Lo Espejo with a project that assists 40 children living in a neighborhood with high levels of drug addiction among kids. Last year's grant was instrumental in keeping these children out of the streets and off drugs through an after-school program. The 2003 financing will strengthen the program by adding the active participation of the children's mothers. Program staff will work together with both parties, providing counseling as well as recreational and educational activities oriented to developing the children's artistic and athletic talents and channeling their interests away from drug use.

Fundación Cerro Navia Joven - $7,500
This organization was created in 1994 to aid very vulnerable and socially high-risk children and youth in the municipality of Cerro Navia. The Foundation will finance a program that will provide education and counseling services to 60 teenage mothers and their families. In addition to educational activities about infant care, the girls will receive orientation on improving their self esteem, helping them reunite with their families, and being accepted by their community.

Fundación de la Esperanza Joven - $3,000
Since 1996, this organization has been promoting the creation of educational, cultural, economic and social projects aimed at the psychological and social development of youth. Our donation will partially finance support for a program that promotes the psychological and social integration of children and youth (ages 10 to 18) by helping them cope with the negative environment caused by high crime and family disorganization in four low income neighborhoods in Santiago: San Ramón, Peñalolén , Pedro Aguirre Cerda, and Huechuraba. This program will cover sports, cultural, social and educational activities to help these children envision a better future and feel that they are valuable members of their communities.
